Bio

After studying art and design at Sheridan College School of Design, George Brown College and Elliot Lake School of the Arts, I graduated with Honours in Design from the Ontario College of Art and Design, receiving the INCO Award for Achievement in Design in 1977.

I opened Michou Design Studio in 1978, creating exclusive ceramic lines for interior design firms and one of a kind sculptural pieces.

I have worked as an Art Director for a Graphic Design company, created retail window designs and large scale event designs. Some of my clients have included Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, The Italian Canadian Benevolent Society (The Columbus Centre, Toronto), Pot Pourri Kitchen Shops. I have designed and installed galas, auctions, weddings, engagement parties and many other large scale events.

Over the years I have worked in many media - ceramics (functional and sculptural), metal (jewelry, sculpture), stone (sculpture), fiber (2 and 3 D and weaving, knotting), glass (blown and molded), metal plate etching, paint, papier mache (sculpture), wood (furniture, vessels, sculpture) and graphic design.

My work has been featured in Toronto Life Magazine, Town Talk About Toronto, Toronto Star Newspaper Leisure Section.
